Order Online, Try at Home
Several designers and stores offer an easy returns policy that allows you to try on gowns from the comfort of your home. BHLDN offers online stylists to help you find the right gown, plus a simple return policy if it doesn’t turn out the way you expected in person. Floravere just debuted their Bride Box to give customers a new way to try on gowns from home. The fee is $40 per gown, but that amount can be applied to whatever dress you decide to purchase. Lace and Liberty has a variety of gowns and separates available with their home try on box and offers a custom phone styling appointment to help you choose. Amazon’s Prime Wardrobe program allows free home try ons and they carry everything from wedding gowns and jumpsuits to bridesmaid dresses and both mens and womens suits.

Fleurish LA is still serving local brides with virtual styling and dresses delivered to you for your own private, at-home try-on session.
LOHO Bride is offering virtual styling consultations (for a fee) that reserve you a first-in-line fitting appointment when they reopen. The Happy Isles is also offering fee-based styling appointments for their vintage & designer gowns, including an option to have up to 5 items sent to you for try on.
Try Out Accessories Too
Julie Harris Designs is offering virtual consultations through her shop Veils and Accessories and will be offering at-home try on options for bespoke veils and headpieces later this month. Amazon Wardrobe also offers a limited selection of hair accessories and jewelry.
Create an Experience
Make your try-on experience extra fun by adding a few little extras. Set up your space for your fitting using this quick guide from BHLDN, then gather your friends and family on Zoom, Skype, or Facetime for a fitting party. Feel free to order champagne or fun snacks—just don’t let them anywhere near the dresses.
Don’t Forget Virtual Options
Technology can do a lot of cool things these days, and while it can’t really tell you how something is going to fit, it can give you an idea of how it’s going to look. Amsale has a “see this dress on you” feature on many of their wedding and bridesmaid gowns that uses virtual reality to show you what you’d look like in their dresses using a full-length photo of you. You can also try the Zeekit app which has a variety of wedding (and non-wedding) looks to virtually try on.
